The other day I had one of those “WHOA! I live in Colorado” moments. If you’ve ever moved somewhere completely new, you know what I’m talking about.
HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?
I mean, I’m from California. Unfortunately I’m from a crap town in California (to give it some credit.. it really didn’t suck so bad until 2002 or so), but hey, California is California, right? And as soon as I graduated college I headed straight for Southern California (where it’s at!). I’m definitely a Californian at heart. And have an immense amount of California born & raised pride because of it.
How in the heck did I end up here? In Denver? In my “secret paradise” as I like to refer to it, where the winters are mild with random 75 degree days & an occasional dumping of snow and the summers are near perfect with an occasional dumping of a thunderstorm (or several)? Where the animals roam and it’s common to see deer, elk, way too many bunnies, wild turkey, foxes & squirrels on a daily basis? Where you can have city living with great hiking 20 minutes away and some of the best sights & skiing in the world just an hour away? Not to mention the fishing & the biking. Andrew and I fish all of the time…. and did I tell you he bought me a bike last week? Yes, a mountain bike. And it’s pink! He is the best e-v-e-r.
Ahhhhhh, Colorado. Don’t know how I found you, but I’m not letting you go!
