Still Pregnant

Wow…. It’s so weird to be writing this after thinking he’d come early because of his activity level and measuring ahead in size. And yet here we are. 10 !!! days past due. I thought my self-imposed baby must exit deadline was last week. But last week came and went and I have good home birth care, and Emery is such a good kid, and Ben is such a supportive husband that we just kept waiting. Thinking he’d come tomorrow… tomorrow… tomorrow.

Today we had a biophysical profile ultrasound as well as a non stress test. The baby did really well and passed easily. His heart rate is steady, varies, and stayed that way throughout my contractions. I’m having contractions every 6 minutes for 24 hours now. Sometimes they’re stronger than others. We know he’s coming soon. But when? The tests were done as precaution at the suggestion of my midwife. The baby is very active and always has been. He’s probably going to be big, and we wanted to check my fluid levels. My fluid level is perfect. His HR is perfect. Everything looks so good! He’s just….. hanging out.

I have good days and bad days. Since agreeing to a membrane sweep yesterday I’ve been pretty miserable. Crampy, lots of pressure, hard to get around. Add in the contractions and the size of my belly and wow are things so enjoyable right now 🥴 Yesterday I was 3cm dilated. I’m assuming I’m further along today.

If he doesn’t come this week then we have a hospital date set for Sunday. Week 42. That’s the latest date I’m comfortable going. We toured the hospital today. The doctor who’d be working with me said we can just do a no-med induction. Basically, she’d break my water and then we’d wait.

Praying he comes before then…

41 Weeks

oh Jenn I’m so sorry, you have had some very rough days. We are anxious for you and anxious for baby to arrive. Just know we’re thinking of you and praying everything goes smoothly from here on out. You look good, ready!
