Me

jenncrnI moved to Denver in the fall of 2009 and after ELEVEN years of bouncing around between California and Colorado and Alaska and another bachelors + masters degree to add to my resume later – here I am.  Still somewhat clueless as to what I want to do with my life… but I think I’m beginning to figure it out! Slowly.

In 2005 I packed up my California born, raised and created life and headed east to attend college in Massachusetts.  My Californian self was ready for a BIG change. I stayed in Mass for a year and then traveled the world with Semester at Sea.  I returned back to Massachusetts after the most incredible four months at sea I could have ever imagined and decided to buckle down and get my degree in Psychology.  I graduated college in 2008.

Immediately after college I headed for the coast where I lived in La Jolla, California for 15 months.  After a nasty breakup with my ex-boyfriend of 6 years I decided to take a chance and move…. again.  Colorado quickly became my home as I realized just how perfect of a place it really was for me.

Today I work as a nurse and have spent time here in Colorado, in California and in Alaska.

I’ve lived all over this state, but most of the time I call the area of Superior, just 8 miles outside of Boulder, home.

I love change, and I’m constantly thinking of ways to keep my life adventurous & not fall into the mundane day to day rat race…. but also… I really just want to keep my head above water.  Young(er) adulthood is so odd – fun, crazy, challenging.  I guess that in itself is an adventure.

todayjan8My life is shared with Copper, my 13.5 year old Shiba Inu, best friend and faithful companion.

ZainersOn July 28, 2015 I added Zainey to our family.  She’s now 6 years old and is the perfect lab. She’s fun loving, adventurous and doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She accompanies me on many of my hikes since Copper is too old now.

Ben and I met in 2016.  We eloped on a mountain top in 2020 amidst the pandemic after our wedding was canceled. He’s my best friend, and a dream come true.

Together, our family of five is quite interesting.  It’s about to get a lot more interesting when we add our first human baby in 2021! Party of six, coming up!

Follow along!  I can’t promise I’ll be super entertaining or that I won’t annoy you with my sometimes overly-opinionated posts (thought those are rare these days), but I can promise to provide you with a glimpse into our crazy life as two busy young professionals, one who is a little too independent (is that a thing?) and our crazy mountain adventures with three dogs in tow.
